- Installation:
- -------------
- Installing the NDIS5 Miniport driver on Microsoft Windows 98 or 98SE or ME or 2000 or XP.

- 1. Plug USB cable into modem and into one of the computer USB ports.
- 2. Plug in the modem power adapter and make sure that the modem POWER indicator is lit.
- 3. Turn the computer power ON to start Windows.
- 4. When Windows prompts with "USB Composite Device" in the
- "New Hardware Found" dialog box, click the "Next" button.
- 5. Select "Search for the best driver for your device (Recommended)"
- from the "Add New Hardware Wizard" dialog box, then click the
- "Next" button.
- 6. Insert the CD in your CD ROM: of your PC.
- 7. Select "Specify a location" and type Path "CD ROM:\" in the
- "Add New Hardware Wizard" dialog box, then click the "Next" button.
- 8. Click the "Next" button in the "Add New Hardware Wizard" dialog box.
- 9. Windows will prompt with "WebSTAR DPX USB Cable Modem Adapter"
- in the "Add New Hardware Wizard" dialog box.
- 10. Click the "Next" button in the "Add New Hardware Wizard" dialog box.
- Windows will copy the driver (WebSTAR.sys) from CD ROM:\
- to the C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM directory and the WebSTAR.INF file from CD ROM:\
- to the C:\WINDOWS\INF\OTHER directory.
- 11. When Windows prompts with "WebSTAR DPX USB Cable Modem Adapter"
- in the "Add New Hardware Wizard" dialog box, click the "Finish" button.
- 12. Remove the USB CD from your CD ROM.
- 13. Restart your computer to initialize the network function.

- Uninstallation:
- -------------
- Uninstalling the NDIS5 Miniport driver on Microsoft Windows 98 or 98SE or ME or 2000 or XP.

- 1. Unplug USB cable from USB port on computer or cable modem.
- 2. Click " Start " button, then " Settings ", then click " Control Panel ".
- 3. Select " Add/Remove Programs " in Control Panel, then under " Install/Uninstall " tab,
- select 'WebSTAR DPX USB Cable Modem Adapter' for uninstallation.
